If you’re wondering how geothermal works and how effective it would be for you, just open your window. It doesn’t take years of living in the Grand Strand area to realize we get a full range of weather. We get every season, all kinds of precipitation, and some extreme temperatures in the summer and winter. There’s only one element that remains constant here – the earth, which receives and stores the sun’s heat.
That’s the idea behind geothermal. Tap into the heat energy stored in the earth, and use it to heat and cool your home or business. Carolina Temperature Control has served the Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Garden City, Surfside, Pawleys Island and surrounding area since 1983, and is now also the region’s leading expert on geothermal HVAC, featuring the WaterFurnace line of equipment.
How Does Geothermal Heating Work?
Your WaterFurnace heat pump pulls heat from the ground through a loop system into your home or office’s duct system, distributing the heat it generates as warm, comfortable air. You can also use your geothermal system to heat your water.
How Does Geothermal Cooling Work?
In cooling mode, the system works in reverse. Hot air in your home or office is pushed back through the loop system and disbursed into the ground, or sent to your hot water tank.
Using either heat dispersion or heat absorption, your geothermal system keeps your indoor environment comfortable year-round at a fraction of the cost of fossil fueled systems. Because only your fan, blower, and thermostat use electricity, your energy usage is drastically reduced.
If you are considering switching to geothermal, or building new and installing geothermal from the start, you can trust Carolina Temperature Control’s geothermal experts to help you choose the system that best fits your needs.
